Peace Mediator Dr. J. Edward Shepard said today after his meeting with all the Palestinian Factions; he sees the beginning of a new U.S., Hamas and Fathah relationships. A relationship which is beginning to move in a new direction. A direction based on mutal respect and trust.
Peace Mediator Dr. J. Edward Shepard told reporters after concluding his meeting with all the Palestinian Factions that if he is elected to the next U.S. Congress; he will bring the experience and direct contacts with Arab leaders throughout the Middle East that is very sadly lacking from all present members of our U.S. Congress today.
That is why the votes and decisions often made by the present American Congress are so one sided and unrealistic concerning the steps that are necessary to get our brave American Troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan and to create a long lasting peace once and for all in the Middle East Region. 3/18/2010
Peace Mediator Dr. J. Edward Shepard's Visit to Gaza
Peace Mediator Dr. J. Edward Shepard arrived to Gaza through Rafah Border Crossings on 17/3/2010 at 14:00; following to his arrival he held several unilateral meetings with the representatives of the Palestinian Factions. He left Gaza to Egypt on 18/3/2010 afternoon.
The Palestinian political Factions:
A: PLO Factions:
The PLO factions expressed their full support to the Palestinian reconciliation process and have already signed the “Egyptian reconciliation Document” they also called on Hamas to sign the document. The PLO factions asserted their support to the peace process and affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to practice the popular resistance against the Israeli occupation of their land.
B: Islamic Movements:
Dr. Al Zahar explained the his movement’s intensions towards the reconciliation process and affirmed Hamas’s commitment to sign the “Egyptian reconciliation Document” and he called on the Arab League to begin negotiations with other factions and remove the obstacles in order to enhance and sign the document.
Dr. Ahmad Yousif a senior Hamas member asserted on the reaching final settlement to the reconciliation process and affirmed his support to continue the dialogue with the western countries in order to reach settlement to the Palestinian problem.
Peace Mediator Dr. J. Edward Shepard thanked the Palestinian factions for the meetings and affirmed the necessity to sign the “Egyptian reconciliation Document” as fast as possible and before the coming Arab Summitso as the Summit discusses the means to support and provide aid to the Palestinian people. He also advised the factions to take more lenient attitudes towards the United States Administration in order to help the United States in its continuing fostering the peace process.
In the end of his political meeting Dr. Shepard paid visits to the homeless families their homes bombarded by Israeli forces.
And he visited Al- Nada kindergarten which is affiliated to the Tender Society.

Dr.J. Eward Shepard said Palestinian movement, Hamas, has agreed to form a national unity government with main rival Fateh and other Palestinian groups.
In a statement while arriving into Egyptian territories from Rafah border crossing after concluding a one-day visit to the Gaza Strip,
He added that he sensed a new attitude from Hamas, and that the group is now willing to reconcile with Fatah in order to alleviate the suffering of Gazans living under Israeli blockade for years.
They (Hamas officials) showed more flexibility and asked me to convey their true desire to complete formation of national Palestinian government in Cairo to end siege on Gaza and open Rafah border crossing permanently, Shepard told reporters.
Shepard, an activist of international organizations which are concerned with ending suffering of Palestinians in Gaza described the situation in the coastal enclave as extremely difficult and unacceptable and urged the world community to exert every possible effort to end this humanitarian tragedy.
